Like many people there are certain things I fancy doing before my time here is up. Some of them are big huge things and others are just small little quirky things.
Last week I accomplished one of those things.
I had a buisness trip in New York last week and ended up flying Jet Blue. For those of you that aren't bi-coastal Jet Blue is a coach only air carrier, but they have DirecTV for each and every seat.
As me and a few coworkers were waiting for our flight we had a discussion about in flight movies and my part went something like this:
"Why don't they ever show a good in flight movie during a flight? Something like Final Destination."
Now of course I said that because there's a huge dramatic scene at the beginning of the film involving a 747 exploading upon take-off. Even better due to the plot of the flim you sort of get to enjoy this experience twice.
It might sound strange to want to watch a horror movie with an air disaster while flying, but that's just how I am. Thankfully the Sci-fi channel granted me my wish that very day. I got to watch Final Destination while in the air.
I also enjoyed a few documentaries including
the Concord crash,
the Aloha Airlines Flight 243 disaster, and a documentary that covered
the missing Navy Flight 19.
Just remember: Flying is a lot safer than dropping the hammer.
